One of Cromer’s most-loved eateries is revamping – with a brand new name.
From this spring The Grove’s two Rosette restaurant will be known as ‘The Garden Rooms’, and will focus heavily on its seasonal menus, with home-grown garden fruit and vegetables and the finest local produce featuring prominently throughout the year.
The menu will be changing format. Instead of a set price, it will be reverting to price-per-dish, making it more accessible. In addition to this, there will be daily specials from the glasshouse. Light lunches will also be served from our ber menu from noon until 4pm.
Since opening in 2011, the Grove’s restaurant has won many accolades, including ten years of AA Rosettes, Traveller’s Choice awards and hundreds of glowing TripAdvisor reviews. And, in 2021, Sundown was added, offering stone-baked pizza and tapas.
Partner Richard Graveling said: “We’re really proud of our main restaurant and our wonderful team that run it, led by head chef Reis Khalil, and we decided that this year it was the well-deserved time to give it a refresh and a new look.
“My grandfather established the kitchen gardens back in the 1930s, and my late father carried this on by producing the most delicious fruit and vegetables. We’re now lucky enough to have Leon Longhurst, formally of East Ruston Old Vicarage Gardens, building on this tradition and bringing in a huge array of wonderful produce every day.
“The Garden Rooms is the perfect name to draw together our homegrown ingredients with the fabulous supplies we have delivered every day from all around the county.”
As well as the name receiving a revamp, the two dining rooms both have a new feel.
“We’ve tried to be a bit creative with the look at feel of the restaurant,” said Mr Graveling. “The idea is that the decoration will change seasonally to reflect the menus and the gardens outside, so it should be quite exciting if it all goes to plan!”
The Spring menu launches (as will each season) with a seven-course tasting night, on 22nd March, and the Garden Rooms will be open every night seven days a week all year round.
